Welcome! My name is Jennifer Kimbrell and I’m so glad you’ve taken the time to visit my website.
I am an IEW-accredited Certified Instructor with twenty years of IEW teaching experience. My students are frequently featured in IEW’s online magazine, Magnum Opus. In addition to my own classes, I have also taught at IEW’s 2010 Writing Educators’ Symposium at Wake Forest, and for Westminster Schools of Augusta’s 2011-2013 Summer Program. Currently, I am writing a Georgia history writing curriculum that will be published by IEW as a product in their state history series.
Teaching IEW to hundreds of students over many years, I have seen the method work astoundingly well for every type of student, from those with learning difficulties to National Honor Society members. I coach and challenge my students to achieve their Personal Record, as I cheer them on. While teaching them specific writing skills, I also train them in key principles of success, such as following directions, planning their work, and overcoming procrastination.
I coach them to intentionally “do hard things” and to improve through daily practice. The high-energy, encouraging environment, combined with the experience of success, usually wins over even the most hardened hater of writing.
I’m looking forward to teaching more students during the 2021-2022 school year! Registration is currently underway and the $35 Early Bird discount ends May 31st. Are you wondering if this method of writing is right for your student(s)? Please visit my FAQ page for more information. Then click on the contact page and send me an email! I look forward to hearing from you!
