I kept seeing a link to the “Well Trained Mind Forum” as a Referrer on my website stat page. Curious about how people were finding my website from Well Trained Mind, I searched the forums for my website URL. Up popped this wonderful review of my classes! I really don’t know which of my Level 1 writing parents wrote this, but I would love to thank her. 🙂
The Well Trained Mind is the brainchild of Susan Wise Bauer, whose history books I love. I have a very high opinion of WTM, so it means a lot to me that one of their high-ranked members, a “Hive Mind Queen Bee,” is so pleased with my classes.
I have made it my goal from the beginning to offer excellent classes that produce superior results. C.S. Lewis has continually spurred me on in my pursuit with a quote from his outstanding “Inner Ring” essay:
If in your working hours you make the work your end, you will presently find yourself all unawares inside the only circle in your profession that really matters. You will be one of the sound craftsmen, and other sound craftsmen will know it.
My husband started teasing me this year after I acquired my first students from outside the U.S., saying that he was going to retire now that his wife was an internationally famous writing teacher. 😀 He’s just being funny, of course. I’m only a tiny, one-woman operation. But I’m a “sound craftsman” with high standards and a proven product! I know it, and my writing parents, who are also “sound craftsmen,” know it, too. That is really all I need to be happy in my work.
By the way, if you have never read Lewis’s “Inner Ring,” do yourself a favor and read it!
