The Witch of Blackbird Pond is my most frequently downloaded story chart! I read the book in 6th grade and loved it. It was a real pleasure to reread it a few years ago so I could make the story chart.
My story charts are created to help students understand the elements of literature and to learn to analyze a story. I use the method taught by the Center for Lit in my classes when discussing literature. Level 1 students choose and read a novel from my list and practice analyzing it by making their own story chart. Then I give them my complete story chart to use when writing the book review assignment. I encourage them to post their review to Amazon once it is graded and corrected, which is a fun and easy way to be published.
